Anyone know of a good one? I do hope the Tumblr Team come up with an iPad version soon, primarily because I’m finding it a lot easier to type on the iPad than anything else =\
I have a peeve that involves people calling devices/gadgets by names that are either misleading, incorrect, or simply plain wrong. Of course, i have the same peeve for people calling people names or insulting them even in jest, particularly if the second person in question is my friend, but that has been ranted before and this is a geekrant :P
For example, a Mac Pro is very different from a MacBookPro. Need to know what’s the difference? Go look at the two computers in Apple’s website. I’d let MacBook vs MacBookPro slide - that’s not too much of a concern. But telling people you have a Mac Pro when you actually have a MacBookPro is a big difference.
Another pet peeve: there is no such thing as an iTouch. I don’t even know where the name came from - the name for the device commonly known as the iTouch is the iPod Touch. If i wanted to nitpick and be mean i would say i know nothing called the iTouch. So far i’ve just let it slide but everytime i see it, it irks me to no end. The only reason people actually accept this nomenclature is because 1) it’s shorter, which implies 2) you’re probably lazy or 3) you go for convenience of naming, and 4) the store personnel don’t have the balls to tell you it’s called the “iPod Touch” because you’re too much of a proud customer and you like the idea that the customer is always right.
I’m not an Apple evangelist - i like it, but in my opinion it’s a means to an end, and so if Windows works better for you with better results, then use it. So all you Apple fanboys: Don’t go calling Windows Windoze just because you don’t like it. Same thing with you Windows evangelists - Apple is spelt A-P-P-L-E, not A-P-P-U-L, as so many of you do in the forums to whatever end you intended to achieve.
So yes i’m a geek, and i like to be accurate in my description of gadgets. I’m not stopping you from calling them whatever you want to call them, but hey don’t get mad if people don’t understand that your Mac Pro is actually a MacBookPro, or have no idea what the iTouch is. So far all the people in US i’ve met over this trip agree with me don’t know what an iTouch is, and when told what it means, they find it absolutely ridiculous.
And i have to say i absolutely agree.
I like this one in particular - “Focus on what matters: Don’t argue with anyone on your timeline. If you must prove a point, do it in DM.”
84 minutes? I think I spend wayyyyy more time than that.
You know I actually understand this guys frustration…and how it was be the greatest dream fulfilled.
This is a very welcome feature - and makes a doubly compelling case for the iPad if i eventually decide on one.
For fans of the game! Comic is released to commemorate the new DLC coming ou!
..that if you go to http://googlegooglegooglegoogle.com you open up a page where you have four google browsers on the same webpage?
I tried it, and i can imagine how it might be useful…i also see how it can be totally useless, but hey that’s not stopping me from using it anyway just for the kick of it. :D
