"The unexamined life is not worth living" - Socrates

It is interesting to see the development of the subject’s psyche in this stage - apparently the prolonged duration is not induced by an inability to accept fate (if we may allow the term to slip past scientific analysis at this point of time) but rather the fact that the subject sometimes feels that he does not deserve to feel blessed or recovered. Self-punishment seems to make things simpler to understand for him, and it is precisely because he understands that every action taken on himself or on other people will have a lasting effect, no matter how small, that he is unable to reconcile a concept of retribution as an explanation.

The near-cyclical variations in moods are therefore, not only because of this circumstance, but also because the subject feels partly guilty for reasons unknown. Counseling sessions have further revealed the previously mentioned dissonance has not been alleviated, but at times accentuated. It is possible that subject does not even know what is causing the internal discord within himself.

Subject seems to understand that speaking about the situation will not help it, but feels cornered in a situation where he wants to speak, but yet doesn’t want to speak. The analysis thus far is confusing - logically so because subject is confused in the first place, making it difficult for structuring of the mind to happen.
